A very exciting day!

Today we watched the first voicethread created by some of the students from Drummondville school. We really enjoyed it and immediately started planning our response. After we began planning we were pleasently surprised to recieve a package from Ms. Catchpaw's Grade 6 class. We spent our whole reading period opening and reading their letters.

It was so much fun! We even tried some of the sparkling juice that was included in our package. Tomorrow we may try some of the maple products. The students in my class were very impressed at all the wonderful things that we recieved in the package. They have decided to prepare a package to send back with some items that represent our life here in Quaqtaq.

In the afternoon we went for a walk to take some pictures to use for our post. It was a beautiful and sunny day, it was a very good excuse to go outside. Tomorrow we will be viewing the new posts by our partner class and we will work on creating our own voicethread with the pictures and information we put together today.

We are a class of Grade 6,7 students. There are 8 students in our class, 4 boys and 4 girls. We live in a small Inuit village with approximately 300 people. Our school, Isummasaqvik School,  includes students from kindergarten to Secondary 5, there are 109 students and around 20 staff members.

We have created this blog page to communicate with another class from the south. We are very excited! We can't wait to know more about students that are the same age as us but live in a different area and have a different culture. We hope that everyone enjoys our new blog.
